In 2022 Julia Yezbick from Mothlight Microcinema and I developed an idea to offer no-cost workshop-style classes on Do-It-Yourself 16mm filmmaking in Detroit to help build a deeper and more active local celluloid film presence. We have partnered with Detroit Narrative Agency who focus on non-extractive media storytelling and amplifying BIPOC voices, and with Carpenter Creative Corridor. Supported by Culture Source and the Michigan Arts and Culture Commission we are continuing to expand our programs. Viva Cinema!

I am a proud member in The Carpenter Creative Corridor, a decentralized community art school in Detroit. The Carpenter Creative Corridor is a partnership between Popps Packing, The Hinterlands and Playhouse Laboratories, Ceramics School, The Bangla School of Music, and myself. The CCC offers ongoing free public art classes for all and is funded by the Michigan Community Center Grant through the Michigan Community Service Commission.
